A Nifty Way to keep track of seeds you plant

Directions:
Cut a Paper Towel tube or Toilet paper tube into one inch lengths , place these over the hole where you plant the seeds. Within days or so you will see the starts come through, and be able to keep track of them throughout their starting phase. I don't believe much in chemical weeding treatments, so this is a great way to keep track of those new starts.

Check out this website where I got the idea from. Lots of Pretty pictures, a good blog as well.

Seed Sales higher than expected

It appears that people have been getting excited about gardening recently. Some seed companies have release higher than expected sales! The fact of the matter is people see vegetable planting as a way to hedge their bets. Its as if the Victory Gardens are back. People are worried, and it makes "dollar and cents" to plant seeds for food because its just so darn cost effective.
